Just as Emma was finishing her MSc in Psychological Research, Dave was launching The Cynefin Centre at Bangor University – her alma mater. After being in the right place at the right time, in the humble town of Hay-on-Wye, Emma was offered one of the first internships at the Centre and has been working as a researcher ever since.
During her work at The Cynefin Centre, Emma has led SenseMaker projects within governance and policy, meaning and identity, health, mental health and well-being, organisational development, agriculture, and economic growth and social justice in developing countries.
Heading into the new decade, Emma is working to launch two new research programmes. Project Numinous, which focuses on the role of religion, spirituality and transcendence in the modern world and a yet to be named programme on interpersonal abuse launching in late 2020.
When not at work you’ll find Emma accidentally locking herself in caravans, clumsily falling over things, or vehemently campaigning for the freedom of house elves.
