SenseMaker® Signification from Cognitive Edge – January session

A 4 week on-line Facilitator guided course to SenseMaker® Signification design. Covers prompting question design, Signifier design and considerations for setting up Collector. Assignments handed out with feedback provided. You will also learn from and collaborate online with other participants. There are no specific class times scheduled, but there will be the option to attend two live chat sessions.


Learning Objectives: At the conclusion of this Facilitator guided online class, you:

i) Will understand how to successfully design the objectives of a Narrative Fragment capture activity in the broader context of a project (and its goals) and the impact this can have on the broader project

ii) will, based on the broader project objectives, able to design Story Prompts, Signifiers and associated instruments to gather narrative fragments successfully

iii) Will understand the relationship between signifier design and fragment capture


Effort:    Participants will need to allow approximately 3-5 hrs per week, over the 4 weeks.


Pre-requisites & Requirements:

1) Completion of SenseMaker® Environment (online) OR indicate to Cognitive Edge that you have some prior knowledge

2) You should either have a basic understanding of using a personal computer (Mac or PC), OR, have access to someone who can help. You need to know how to download and upload files to the internet. You also need a broadband or DSL Internet connection.

3) You need one of the following browsers. Please note the Browser Version! Internet Explorer 8 or higher, Firefox 4 and higher, Safari 5, or Google Chrome 11 (video support enabled).

4) We are using the latest version of Skype for small group discussion. Let us know if this will be a problem for you.
