Friday Five – the Centennial Edition

Not quite years, but this is the 100th week edition of our Friday Five despatches. We hope you have found this weekly roundup of news and clippings on complexity, Cynefin, narrative, resilience etc. quite useful.

This week we’d like to highlight the upcoming retreat in Snowdonia, which is focussed on Economics and Value. It is widely and hotly argued that the prevailing neoliberal economic paradigm, with its single-minded approach to growth and development, has produced unequal and inequitable results for many societies. What does it mean to apply a complexity mindset to economics and value, and to situate it in the lives of everyone, not just ‘elites’ and ‘experts’? What does a fairer system look like?

Join this debate and roundtable situated in the rugged, tranquil mountainscape of North Wales, the spiritual and historical home of Welsh princes, of druids and bards, and more recently, of hardy miners, tough as the slate they mined and tender as the prose and poetry they created.

We look forward to welcoming you to the ancient Kingdom of Gwynedd.

Naturally, the pièce de résistance of this Friday Five has to do with #complexity. From all of us, enjoy, and have a great weekend.
