Australasia on the horizon

By Dave Snowden  ·  January 18, 2014  ·  News

I slept in this morning, catching ip after a difficult couple of weeks.  It was good last night to get the wood burner going in the sitting room and settle in with a curry to watch television, enjoying the new Sky high definition box (well worth the investment) and satisfying the cat's need for attention.  This morning I had to sort out options on flights to Israel and Sydney/Auckland which are coming up in a couple of weeks time.   I'll be flying Gulf Air I think - not seen the booking yet, but they are new members of One World and...

Dire prognostications - 3

Things got better today, eventually, but there were some more twists to come.   I slept fitfully thanks thanks to the cold.   By 0300 the room was at a temperature which meant I could undress, but then a note was shoved under the door to say that the pipes had burst and there would be no hot water.  It never rains but it freezes to adapt an old saying.  I got some sleep and then was woken up by a call from Ray to see if I could make Toronto City Airport for a 1045 flight to Moncton.  A quick check and I could, and wonder of wonders...

By Dave Snowden  ·  August 29, 2013  ·  News

I'm in danger of having a whole month without blog posts, so just as August draws to a close I thought I had better get my act together!   It has been a frantic and stressful, closing our financial year (we continue to make a profit but its been hard work with the recession) and my first full Diabetes tests being the main events.  The latter was stressing me but I am pleased to say all blood levels are now normal and I have lost 35lb in just over three months.  Anything less given the severity of the diet would have depressed me....
